The Fondazione Maddalena Di Giacomo serves as a platform for artistic innovation and cultural exchange, with its Artist Residency Program fostering creativity and cross-cultural dialogue. Set within the Piano Nobile of Palazzo Valier, a distinguished A-listed historic residence in the heart of Venice, once home to the Renaissance master Giorgione, the program offers artists a unique environment for creation, collaboration, and intellectual growth.

Immersed in the exceptional cultural ecosystem of Venice, residents are invited to engage with the city’s layered artistic heritage while also encountering its vibrant contemporary scene, shaped in part by the
international resonance of Venice Biennale. This dialogue between past and present forms a vital component of the residency experience, encouraging artists to expand their practice within a context of historical continuity and global exchange.

The program is further enriched by a series of workshops, talks, and collaborative sessions developed by the Fondazione, fostering interdisciplinary research and meaningful connections among artists, scholars, and cultural practitioners.

Residencies are granted through a formal application process. Due to high demand, a waiting list may apply.

Applicants are invited to submit a cover letter along with a letter of patronage to be considered for eligibility.
